The Conversion Brief

Off-Shore workshop shipping container conversion; converted from a standard 20ft shipping container. Modifications included internal ply-lining, custom workshop fixtures, with 3 tier shelving. Once complete the Workshop was shipped to their off-shore base.

Breakdown of the Project

We were approached from an engineering company that was looking for a workshop that could be easily moved offshore. The concept was to build on-shore then transported to their off-shore base to be used as the workshop for repairs and builds to take place in the workshop. We spoke with the client and asked for specifications for the design for their workshop, this was so we could quote for the internal and external modification and give the best price. The workshop was converted from 1no. 20ft new ‘one trip’ shipping container, that was converted to their specifications.

The internal modifications started with the whole of the inside of the shipping container being ply lined throughout, it insulates the workshop container conversion a little as well. (The ply lining internally makes the workshop not feel like a shipping container when you are inside the workshop.)
