40ft Shipping Container Converted into Switch-Room

Breakdown of the Project

We took a 40ft new ‘one trip’ shipping container and fitted out ready for client to install switch-room equipment.

The unit was fitted with various apertures on the side walls for air conditioning to be installed and apertures through the floor to allow for cable entry. The unit was partitioned internally to separate the switch-room gear from the general working environment. Personnel doors fitted to allow access to both sides. Lined internally with 10mm ply over 50mm Rockwool insulation. Electrics fitted throughout.

Delivered into Oxfordshire approx. 4 – 5 weeks after confirmation of order.

Conversion breakdown

• 40ft new ‘one trip’ shipping container – 40ft x 8ft x 8ft 6”.
• steel personnel doors installed in the left-hand 40ft corrugated panel.
  • 1 at either side of the panel.
  • Dressed with 50mm box section.
• Also, along the left-hand corrugated panel 4no. 1000mm x 1000mm apertures were cut out.
  • Dressed with 50mm box section.
  • Additional trim was added internally.
  • (Customer was installing their own windows).
• Internally the container was ply lined with 10mm.
  • Over 50mm rockwool insulation.
• Partitioned wall in the centre to separate the 40ft into 2 rooms. – Switch room gear room and office space.
• Internal electrical install included.
  • strip lights (2no. in each room).
  • double sockets.
• Apertures cut out from the floor in the server room for cable entry.
• Externally painted in grey.
